An unannounced Samsung device believed to be a Googlebook, designated "Samsung XE940XSA," has surfaced on Geekbench.

While the first wave of Googlebooks was officially announced in September 2026, Samsung—one of the original launch partners for Chromebooks—was noticeably missing from the initial lineup.

However, rumors have suggested that Samsung is actively working on a Googlebook of its own. While details were previously scarce, this recent sighting of what appears to be a physical test unit offers the first concrete evidence of its model name and key specs.

Geekbench Specs and Benchmark Performance

The leak was originally shared on X by @yabhishekhd. The Geekbench benchmark listing shows Android 17 as the operating system, confirming that the device is indeed a Googlebook.

Here is a summary of the core specs and benchmark scores revealed in the leak:

  • Scores (Geekbench 7):

    • Single-Core: 2,513

    • Multi-Core: 15,214

  • CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite

    • 4.01 GHz × 8

    • 3.42 GHz × 4

  • GPU: Adreno X1-85

  • RAM: 16GB

  • OS: Android 17

The processor identification field contains "QTI_SCP_HAMOA," referencing the "Hamoa" codename for the Snapdragon X Elite. The core layout confirms the chip in question is the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100 variant.

Aligning with other Googlebook devices, the unit features the baseline standard of 16GB RAM.

Associated Development Boards

Within the ecosystem of Snapdragon X-powered Googlebooks derived from Qualcomm's "Bluey" reference platform, devices like the Dell XPS Googlebook (Mica) and the HP Googlebook 14c (Quartz) have already been officially announced.

Development is also underway on several derivative boards, including "Annite," "Pic," "Meru," and "Aneto." Prior code analysis has connected Aneto to Acer and Pic to Lenovo, allowing researchers to infer the corresponding manufacturers for most boards. However, no specific development board has been directly linked to Samsung so far.

It remains possible that Samsung's hardware is tied to "Quenbi"—a foundational board registered prior to mass production—or an as-yet-unidentified derivative board, or one of the existing derivative boards.

Expected Timeline

With the first wave of Googlebooks set to hit store shelves on October 4, it is unlikely that this newly benchmarked Samsung XE940XSA will see an immediate release.

Given its current development phase and the timing of this initial Geekbench appearance, an official announcement is more likely expected between late 2026 and early 2027.
