One of the key derivative models emerging from Qualcomm’s "Bluey" reference board for Googlebooks is "Quartz."
Based on ongoing development progress, Geekbench benchmarks, official HP site listings, Bluetooth SIG filings, and recent Energy Star registrations, it is now confirmed that this device will launch as the "HP Googlebook 14c."
Development History
Development of "Quartz" officially began in September 2025 as a derivative of "Bluey," Google’s reference board for Snapdragon-powered Googlebooks.
While another Bluey derivative named "Quenbi" appeared around the same time, Quenbi remained a reference testing platform, leaving Quartz as the sole candidate being actively developed into an actual consumer device.
Early code references suggested the Bluey series might use the Snapdragon X Plus (X1P-42-100), but subsequent development updates confirmed that Quartz is powered exclusively by the Snapdragon X Elite. Additional code commits also hinted at the inclusion of a haptic touchpad.
By late last year, battery-related code hinted at HP as the manufacturer, and leaked test builds of Aluminium OS in 2026 officially confirmed that Quartz was indeed an HP Googlebook.
Benchmarks and HP Official Site Listings
A device named "HP Googlebook 14" was registered on Geekbench, with benchmark runs recorded across May and June listing the CPU as "QTI unknown."
Results on Geekbench revealed a 12-core cluster (8 performance cores at 4.01 GHz + 4 efficiency cores at 3.42 GHz) corresponding to the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100 paired with 32GB RAM.
The latest benchmark run recorded a single-core score of 1,896 and a multi-core score of 9,272—comfortably outperforming processors like the Intel Core Ultra 5 115U series and Core i7-1265U found in Chromebook Plus models.
Furthermore, HP's official site listed the "HP Googlebook 14c" name alongside two model numbers.
The model numbers "14c-cf0000" and "14c-cf0010" were spotted. Based on HP’s standard naming conventions, "cf0000" likely represents the base model while "cf0010" corresponds to a higher-tier variant, likely differing in RAM or storage capacity.
Bluetooth SIG & Energy Star Filings Confirmed
In August 2026, the device passed wireless certification as it was registered on Bluetooth SIG under model number "TPN-H111" with the product name "HP 14 inch Aluminium Premium Book."
In September 2026, filings in the Energy Star database under SKU "14c-cf" officially verified the inclusion of the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100, 32GB RAM, and a 14-inch touchscreen display.
