New leaked renders have surfaced for Lenovo's upcoming laptop, codenamed "Ruby" and officially expected to launch as the Lenovo Googlebook i (15”, 12) / GB 15IPH12. First reported by Digital Citizen, the images showcase the 15.3-inch notebook from multiple angles. While no new specifications accompanied the leak, the renders offer a detailed look at the device's physical design.

Leaked Renders Detail the Hardware Design

The renders reveal design traits consistent with Lenovo’s consumer and enterprise Chromebooks and Chromebook Plus models from the past year. Key hardware details include a slightly raised webcam notch with a physical privacy shutter and a contoured bottom chassis.

The keyboard layout mirrors 2025 and later Chromebook Plus models, featuring dedicated Quick Insert, [G] Launcher, and Fn keys alongside a standard function row. However, a notable shift appears on the bottom left: three dedicated keys mapped to Android navigation functions—Back, Home, and App Switcher. A fingerprint sensor sits in the top-right corner, aligning with teasers shown in previous Googlebook launch videos.

As earlier design leaks suggested, despite its 15.3-inch form factor, the laptop omits a numeric keypad in favor of a centered, spacious touchpad. Though visually unverified from the images alone, reports indicate the touchpad may feature haptic feedback.

I/O selection includes a USB-C port, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack on the left side, with a USB-C port, a USB-A port, and what appears to be a power button on the right. Broadly positioned side speakers feature Dolby Atmos branding.

Aluminium OS Home Screen Visualized

The renders also offer a clear look at the device display running Aluminium OS.

While no new software features are introduced, the user interface strongly resembles Android Desktop Mode. Notably, the Android version of Adobe Premiere—announced in May—is pinned to the shelf (taskbar), reinforcing speculation that recent Android desktop optimizations were laying the foundation for the Googlebook ecosystem.

Everything Known So Far

Originally tracked under the development board codename "Ruby", official documentation confirms the model identifier as the Lenovo GB 15IPH12. Following Lenovo’s standard naming scheme, the retail hardware will almost certainly be marketed as the Lenovo Googlebook i (15”, 12).

Benchmarks and certification listings indicate the laptop will sport a 15.3-inch 2880×1800 resolution display, powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor paired with at least 16GB of RAM. Full technical breakdown and hardware details are available on the Lenovo Googlebook i (15", 12) product page.

Expected IFA Announcement in September

The leak indicates Lenovo could officially reveal the Googlebook at IFA 2026 in Germany this September. However, retail availability is expected to align with Google's broader autumn 2026 release schedule.

While final pricing and release dates remain unconfirmed, related Acer Googlebook 14 leaks suggest the first wave of Googlebooks will launch in early November.
