Googlebooks are slated for a Fall 2026 release, and digging through development repositories like Chromium Gerrit has already revealed over a dozen device codenames.

When Google first announced the initiative, they named Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo as their five initial launch partners. While we initially predicted around eight devices would hit the market, our subsequent investigations have practically confirmed the product names or baseboards (development codenames) for six specific models.

Here is a comprehensive breakdown of the initial six-device lineup as we know it today.

The Intel Core Ultra Series 3 Models (Fatcat Series)

The "Fatcat" baseboard family, powered by Intel's Panther Lake (Core Ultra Series 3) architecture, brings three confirmed models from Acer, ASUS, and Lenovo to the table.

It’s worth noting that three additional devices—codenamed "Felino," "Francka," and "Kinmen"—are also in the mix, though concrete, near-official details remain elusive. Current speculation leans toward these being future Acer devices.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Models (Bluey Series)

Over in the ARM camp, the "Bluey" family features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon silicon, with two confirmed models from HP and Dell.

  • HP Googlebook 14c (Quartz): The name surfaced via listings on HP's official site. It is confirmed to be housing the higher-end Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-80-100) chipset.

  • Dell XPS 13 (DX13267) (Mica): Like HP, this device is slated to pack the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100. Bug reports and benchmark leaks strongly indicate it belongs to Dell, though the final retail name is still under wraps.

While early rumors hinted at the inclusion of the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100, recent benchmark data suggests these machines will actually ship with the beefier X Elite X1E-80-100, paired with either 16GB or 32GB of RAM.

The MediaTek Kompanio Ultra Models (Tanjiro Series)

Based on the current development pipeline, Lenovo appears to be the sole manufacturer prepping a Googlebook powered by the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910.

Interestingly, MediaTek has announced that its chipsets bound for Googlebooks will ditch the "Kompanio" branding familiar to Chromebooks in favor of the "Dimensity CX" moniker. However, the Kompanio identifier will persist in product documentation, meaning the silicon itself remains structurally identical to the Kompanio Ultra 910.

The Takeaway

While we initially anticipated a launch roster of around eight devices, we can now confidently expect at least six models to hit the shelves on day one.

More importantly, these six machines successfully cover all five of Google's initial launch partners, suggesting that the first wave of hardware is effectively locked in.

As for the remaining codenames we've tracked, they might miss the initial launch window entirely. However, assuming development hasn't stalled, there's a strong chance they will be unveiled at a later date.
