Google Play services v26.33 introduces a new feature that allows users to access smartphone apps directly from their Googlebook.
According to the release notes published by Google on August 24, 2026, the update for PCs and smartphones confirms that Googlebook can now access mobile applications.
This enables the "Cast My Apps" feature, allowing users to access apps installed on their smartphones and control them from a larger screen with just a single tap.
While ChromeOS offers a similar app streaming feature via Phone Hub, Googlebook's Android-based foundation is expected to provide deeper integration and a highly seamless user experience—akin to macOS's "iPhone Mirroring".
Google is planning to unveil its first-generation Googlebook following a preview event in New York on September 15, 2026.
The previous update, v26.32, introduced support for Quick Start during setup and multi-device features, indicating that Google Play services is steadily laying the groundwork for the upcoming hardware launch.
