Google is currently developing Googlebook with a target release for Fall 2026. The latest release notes for Google Play services v26.32 include three specific changes aimed at the upcoming laptop line.
Google Play services serves as a core component supporting underlying Android OS functionality and Google app operations. In version 26.32, the update introduces key modifications surrounding device setup and cross-device services for Googlebook.
Under Account Management, users will now be able to easily set up a Googlebook using Quick Start with an existing Android device during initial setup.
Additionally, the Setup Wizard now allows users to learn about multi-device features and discover functionality tailored to their connected smartphone.
Furthermore, users can now toggle and enable beta features directly from the Cross-Device Services settings.
The first Googlebook models are scheduled for launch in Fall 2026, with several Play services updates already laying the groundwork for Googlebook (Android PC).
