A detachable keyboard for the "Lenovo Googlebook Duet m"—a tablet-type Googlebook currently under development by Lenovo—has been spotted in the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification database in the US.

This information was brought to light through a reader tip. While the submitted documents confirm the keyboard's external design, no specific details regarding the hardware specifications or internal components of the tablet body itself were disclosed in this filing.

However, the model name "DUET13BTKB" strongly suggests that "BTKB" stands for Bluetooth Keyboard. As previously hinted in leaked render images, this filing further confirms that the accessory supports wireless connectivity. Additionally, the presence of pogo pins in the images increases the likelihood that it will support dual-mode functionality: both physical and wireless connections.

Keyboard Design Confirmed via FCC Documents

The item newly registered with the FCC is a dedicated detachable keyboard designed for the tablet device known internally by the development codename "Sapphire" and officially titled the "Lenovo Googlebook Duet m (13″, 11)" (Model number: 13M9611).

Schematic diagrams included in the filing reveal the key layout and overall structural design of the keyboard.

Regarding this keyboard, previously leaked high-resolution renders had already revealed a three-stage physical switch on its side. As we noted at the time, this pointed to an internal battery within the keyboard itself, enabling wireless Bluetooth input even when detached from the main tablet unit.

Furthermore, the recent FCC filing includes a "DTS test report_BLE", confirming that Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) testing was actually conducted. With official regulatory testing completed, Bluetooth wireless support is virtually guaranteed.

While previous Lenovo Chromebook Duet models typically required a physical pogo-pin connection to function, the Duet m design allows users the flexibility of detached typing or even pairing the keyboard with other devices.

What We Know So Far

Although this specific FCC listing covers the keyboard accessory, many specifications for the "Lenovo Googlebook Duet m" main unit have already emerged from Lenovo's official website entries and various certification bodies like Bluetooth SIG.

Here is a roundup of the key known specifications to date:

While stylus support was previously known, the new keyboard registration indicates that Lenovo is actively preparing the surrounding ecosystem ahead of the official product release.

An official announcement has not yet been made, but given the steady stream of regulatory milestones, a launch by the end of the year or in early 2027 seems increasingly likely.
