MediaTek officially announced the Dimensity CX C10 Max on September 21, 2026, marking the debut of its new Dimensity CX computing silicon family tailored for Googlebooks. On the same day, pre-orders opened for the first wave of Googlebooks, though those initial configurations exclusively feature Intel and Qualcomm processors. MediaTek has confirmed that upcoming Googlebook devices powered by the Dimensity CX C10 Max will be announced in the near future.
8-Core "All Big Core" CPU Architecture and 11-Core GPU
Fabricated on TSMC's 3nm process node, the Dimensity CX C10 Max utilizes an 8-core CPU setup comprising one Cortex-X925 core, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores—a configuration MediaTek designates as its "All Big Core" design. On the graphics side, it integrates an 11-core GPU.
This power-efficient architecture delivers exceptional performance across multitasking, productivity, and entertainment workloads. Crucially, it enables OEMs to design ultra-thin, lightweight, and fanless devices with all-day battery life.
In terms of performance metrics, MediaTek claims the chip delivers up to 15% higher multi-threaded performance compared to Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-84-100), while consuming 50% less power during single-threaded tasks.
According to official Dimensity CX C10 Max specifications, its core layout and cache hierarchy mirror the Kompanio Ultra 910 previously announced for Chromebook Plus. The primary difference lies in memory speed: LPDDR5X support has been bumped from 8,533 Mbps on the Kompanio Ultra 910 up to 9,600 Mbps. Aside from memory bandwidth, the foundational silicon architecture remains shared between the two chips.
55 TOPS NPU Powers On-Device Gemini Intelligence
For local AI acceleration, the SoC incorporates MediaTek's 8th-generation NPU 890, delivering up to 55 TOPS of performance with full support for INT8, INT16, FP16, and BF16 data types.
Engineered specifically for generative and agentic AI workloads, the NPU enables upcoming Googlebooks to process Gemini Intelligence features locally on-device. This localized processing promises faster latency and enhanced user privacy.
Image Signal Processor and Wireless Connectivity
For camera processing, the chip embeds the MediaTek Imagiq 1090 ISP, supporting image sensors up to 32MP.
AI-enhanced ISP features include high-quality HDR video capture, smooth zoom transitions, cinematic video modes, and persistent subject autofocus, making it ideal for video calls, live streaming, and content creation.
On the connectivity front, the platform supports Wi-Fi 7 with peak speeds up to 7.3 Gbps, rendering fast and reliable wireless networking even in congested environments. While the silicon also supports dual-engine Bluetooth 6.0, this feature will not be enabled on Googlebook implementations.
Headed to Lenovo Googlebooks
While Google launched pre-orders on September 21 for initial Googlebooks from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, those models rely solely on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chips. MediaTek has confirmed that its Dimensity CX C10 Max will arrive in subsequent Lenovo Googlebook offerings.
Based on ongoing developments and industry leaks, the chip is expected to power the upcoming tablet-style Lenovo Googlebook m (13”, 11), which was absent from the initial wave.
Development records indicate this device evolved from the "Sapphire" board, a variant derived from the "Tanjiro" reference design originally built for the Kompanio Ultra 910. Currently, this model is anticipated to be the sole tablet-form-factor and MediaTek-powered entry in the Googlebook lineup.
