Google is expected to officially unveil details for devices from various manufacturers alongside the start of Googlebook pre-orders soon. However, just ahead of the announcement, the specs, design, and pricing for the "HP Googlebook 14c" were revealed directly on HP's official website.
Currently confirmed is a base configuration featuring a Snapdragon X Elite processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage priced at $1,299.99. As previously anticipated, roughly $1,300 appears to be the starting point for premium Googlebook models.
Confirmed Specifications
The specs for the HP Googlebook 14c spotted on HP's official site reveal a 14-inch 2,880 × 1,800 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 500 nits (1,100 nits HDR), and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage.
Under the hood, as expected, it packs a Snapdragon X Elite X1P-80-100 processor paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 512GB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD in what looks like the base model. While 32GB RAM configurations have been spotted in Geekbench benchmarks and regulatory certification filings, they could not be confirmed on the official site at this time.
In terms of connectivity and ports, it features two USB-C ports and a 3.5mm combo audio jack, along with a 5MP webcam equipped with a privacy shutter, as well as support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Furthermore, as suggested by early development leaks, it includes a haptic touchpad and a fingerprint sensor.
Additionally, the laptop packs a 70Wh battery with support for up to 65W charging—capable of reaching up to 50% charge in about 45 minutes—a backlit keyboard, and a quad-speaker setup.
Dimensions are 311.15 × 216.66 × 10.92mm, with a weight of approximately 1.24kg.
Notably, as confirmed in recent specs for Lenovo's AI mouse, the OS name is listed as "Googlebook OS", confirming that the official name will be Googlebook OS rather than the provisional "Aluminium OS" title used previously.
Finally, pricing for the 16GB RAM / 512GB storage model is set at $1,299.99, which is expected to serve as the baseline price for the first wave of Googlebooks. No release date was listed on the page.
