A benchmark for a device dubbed the "HP Googlebook 14 inch" has surfaced on Geekbench. Powered by a Qualcomm processor and running Android 17, this device is strongly believed to be HP's upcoming Googlebook currently in development.

Confirmed Benchmark Details

Benchmarks for the "HP Googlebook 14 inch" were recorded in May and June. While HP’s involvement in the space was already confirmed when the Googlebook initiative was first announced, this marks the first time we've seen concrete evidence of an actual device in operation.

The latest benchmark results reveal a single-core score of 1,896 and a multi-core score of 9,272. To put that in perspective within the current landscape, these numbers outpace both the Intel Core Ultra 5 115U series and the Core i7-1265U.

Although the specific CPU name is listed as "QTI unknown," the benchmark confirms a 12-core architecture:

  • 3.42 GHz × 4

  • 4.01 GHz × 8

This specific configuration aligns perfectly with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100, heavily suggesting that HP's Googlebook will be powered by this exact silicon. Additionally, the benchmark confirms the device is equipped with a generous 32GB of RAM and runs on Android 17.

Ties to the "Bluey" Family

When it comes to Qualcomm-powered Googlebooks, three derivative models have been identified stemming from the "Bluey" baseboard: Quartz, Mica, and Quenbi.

Notably, Quartz has been in development exclusively featuring the Snapdragon X Elite. Given previous indications that Quartz was being manufactured by HP, it is highly probable that the newly spotted "HP Googlebook 14" is, in fact, the Quartz device.

The Takeaway

HP was already named as one of the original five launch partners. However, the appearance of the "HP Googlebook 14" on Geekbench provides compelling evidence that the hardware internally known as Quartz is indeed HP's upcoming device, bringing us one step closer to its official debut.

It is also worth noting that the Googlebook ecosystem will not be limited to Qualcomm; it has already been announced that future devices will feature processors from Intel and MediaTek as well.
