Google released the latest release notes for Google Play services (v26.34), the system app for Android and related devices, on August 31, 2026.

While the previous v26.33 update introduced support for accessing smartphone apps from a Googlebook, the new v26.34 version adds the ability to directly access files on your smartphone from your Googlebook, as well as view and manage smartphone notifications on your Googlebook or tablet.

Among these features, the ability to access smartphone files from a Googlebook is highly likely referring to the previously announced "Quick Access" feature.

As for the notification viewing and management feature, it functions similarly to Chromebook's "Phone Hub" or the "Notification Sync" between Pixel smartphones and Pixel Tablets.

Over the past two Google Play services updates, Google has been actively introducing changes related to multi-device integration for Googlebooks.
