Along with the release of Googlebook, third-party app support is steadily progressing, and it has been announced that Skylum's photo editing app 'Luminar' and Flexibits' calendar app 'Fantastical' have newly optimized and added support for Googlebook.
Photo Editing App "Luminar" Optimized for Googlebook
Skylum has optimized its photo editing app "Luminar" for Googlebook and added several new features.
The Googlebook version includes enhancements tailored to desktop workflows, such as drag-and-drop, keyboard shortcuts, window resizing, full mouse and keyboard operation, multitasking, and file management.
In addition to existing AI tools like RAW editing and background replacement, new features launched alongside this release include Generative Erase, HDR Merge, and batch editing.
It also supports Android 17's "Continue On" feature, which allows users to seamlessly resume edits started on a smartphone over on a Googlebook, though availability at launch remains unconfirmed.
Additionally, a limited-time perk offering 12 months of free access is available in countries where it has already launched.
Calendar App "Fantastical" Adds Googlebook Support
Flexibits, previously available on Mac, iPhone, and Windows, has officially launched its calendar app "Fantastical" for Googlebook.
It features natural language parsing that automatically converts typed text into events and tasks, along with full-screen views for day, week, month, and year layouts. It supports a wide range of services including iCloud, Google, Exchange, and Office 365, while task management integrates with Todoist and Microsoft To Do.
In addition to a free plan with core features and a 3-day weather forecast, a paid plan—Flexibits Premium—is available for advanced functionality. Existing subscribers using Fantastical Premium on other platforms can also access the Googlebook version at no extra charge.
Meanwhile, the app for Android smartphones and tablets is scheduled for release in 2027.
Summary
With the introduction of Googlebook, adaptation for Android apps optimized for larger screens, keyboard, and mouse controls—such as Luminar and Fantastical—is accelerating rapidly.
Moving forward, further expansion of third-party creative and productivity apps tailored for Googlebook is highly anticipated.
