Logitech has officially released "Logi Options+ for Googlebook," its dedicated device customization app, on the Google Play Store.
On traditional Chromebooks, fine-grained key and button customization was limited due to the lack of native app support. However, with Googlebook natively running Android applications, users can now enjoy desktop-grade customization flexibility similar to Windows and macOS.
Note that feature support remains somewhat limited at launch, with fewer customizable parameters currently available.
One-Button Access to Googlebook AI Features
The highlight of "Logi Options+ for Googlebook" is its ability to optimize access to Gemini-powered AI capabilities integrated into Googlebook, alongside standard pointer and scrolling adjustments.
Through the app, users can customize several features, including:

Magic Pointer Mapping: Assign the "Magic Pointer" feature to any mouse button or keyboard key. Magic Pointer allows Gemini to contextually analyze the object targeted by the cursor and suggest relevant actions. This enables seamless querying and content creation simply by pointing and clicking.

Circle to Search Shortcut: Map "Circle to Search" to a physical button, allowing quick, context-aware searches across images, video objects, or text without switching apps.

Gemini Shortcut Customization: Configure dedicated shortcuts to launch the AI assistant instantly.

Core Controls and Easy-Switch: Adjust pointer speed and toggle between precision line-by-line scrolling and hyper-fast free-spin via SmartShift. Essential Logitech features such as Easy-Switch (toggling up to three devices at the touch of a button) and battery status monitoring are also fully supported.

Current Limitations
While optimized for Googlebook, initial feature availability is limited. Users are advised to review the official documentation regarding specific device and feature compatibility.
Additionally, due to OS-level restrictions, Googlebook's built-in keyboard does not support remap of the Quick Insert key, and Logitech has not explicitly stated whether the Quick Insert function can be remapped on external Logitech keyboards using Logi Options+.
While expanded customization options are expected in future software updates, users should note that the current implementation does not yet offer the full depth of customization available on Windows and macOS.
